Not much new info. Only a couple of points of interest in my opinion:

1: TC will be doing the liner notes for Dave Pick's 6.
2: Lemieux says that he is hoping to release a 3-CD Dave's Pick's in 2014 from one show in late '69 that, in Dave's opinion, will be better than the two shows included in Dave's Picks 6 and also that have not been heard in 43 years.

Fun to watch, though as you say, very uninformative!

He also said that he hopes to release two, and maybe three, more shows from the new batch of '69/70 reels. He did hint before that this one show in particular is better than Dave's Pick 6, and now he calls it a "mindblower"...
I would bet that the show he's mentioning for 2014 is the one with Caution>NFA>Lovelight that he played at the Rock Hall of Fame last November.
Although, he did also play an unreleased Dark Star that was said to be from *November* '69, so that's another mystery to me...

Otherwise, since of course he won't say what's being considered for release, not much info.
He did say that Dave's Picks #7 will not be from the mid-80s since he just can't find any show in releasable sound quality from that period. (He's looking, though.)
Once a questioner mentioned that digital media was now "lucrative," and Dave replied, "Ha!" (Which may indicate why dead.net hasn't stepped much into the digital world!) He also mentioned that DVD releases are expensive to make & don't make much money.
And dismayingly, when asked why the limited releases, he replied: 1) People like them - "deadheads like collectibles", 2) No extra inventory to store, & 3) Rhino's sales projections have been perfect anyway. So it looks like the limited-release idea will continue indefinitely...
Although not saying what the next "big" box-set-type release will be, he sure looked excited about what it might be, as if cackling to himself about what they're going to spring on us.

Lemieux was pulling most of his questions off of the Facebook comment thread announcing his chat. I had posted a question about the DSO "high school" event coming up in August in the Catskills that was recently promoted on:

http://www.jambands.com/news/2013/03/20/dark-star-orchestra-confirm-dso-high-school-additional-dates/

Specifically, I was interested in the "Tapers 101" section where they mention Betty Cantor Jackson and Rob Eaton will be unearthing, listening to, and discussing unheard master reels. I asked him if he had any information on this. He skipped over my question. Later in the chat, I posted my question again at the bottom and it was skipped again. Maybe he just missed the question, but maybe he was avoiding it for some reason. I then posted a cream puff question about the new 69/70 tapes that make up DaP 6 and he answered that one right away, so I know it wasn't some glitchy computer issue. Also, I had emailed vault@dead.net with the same question a week ago, and have not gotten a response.

Strangely enough, all this lack of response actually has me hopeful that these tapes could be legitimate and Lemiuex is avoiding the questions because he may be trying to get the tapes back in the vault.

it's about time somebody cleans up a complete fall acoustic/electric 80 show, specifically 10-10-80, best show of the year...69 has been done to death, the May 80 release from Road Trips was a weak choice...unless he finally does Barton Hall, 77 needs a break...as does 72...
